FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is European Quartz?
European Quartz is a naturally beautiful, ultra durable surface. Ideally suited for every other room in your house, European Quartz allows homeowners and designers to truly express themselves.
What is quartz?
The second most abundant mineral on the planet, quartz occurs in almost every mineral environment. Quartz is one of the most varied and diverse of all minerals, naturally occurring in many different colors and forms. It’s also one of the hardest minerals on Earth – only diamond, sapphire and topaz are harder. Of all the industrially-processed material available today, nothing is tougher.
Each European Quartz slab is composed of 93% pure, natural quartz, which is what gives European Quartz its extreme durability and scratch-resistance.
What are the advantages of European Quartz?
European Quartz is incredibly strong and scratch-resistant with its natural quartz composition, able to hold up through years of heavy use. It is resistant to both heat and many household chemicals, acids and solvents.
The extraordinary qualities of European Quartz combined with its superior consistency make it quite versatile, ideally suited for use as a countertop, bathroom vanity, wall cladding, fireplace, tub or shower.
How does European Quartz compare to other natural stone like granite or marble?
While granite and marble have their uses, European Quartz is in many respects a superior material. It is highly stain-resistant thanks to its extraordinary non-porous surface. European Quartz does not contain micro-pores like other natural stones, wherein small amounts of staining liquids can become trapped and stain over time.
Unlike marble, the extraordinary hardness and scratch-resistance of European Quartz also prevent chipping, so no micro-fragments from your European Quartz kitchen counter will get into your meals.
While easily matching granite for hardness, European Quartz does not need to be sealed and resealed every year to keep stains away.
How does European Quartz compare to solid surfaces or laminates?
Compared to softer acrylic solid surface materials like LG HI-MACS® and DuPont™ Corian®, the 93% natural quartz composition of European Quartz provides superior durability.
Additionally, these plastic polymers lack the heat-resistance, natural beauty and strength of European Quartz.
Can I use European Quartz outside the kitchen?
Absolutely! Although it makes for a formidable kitchen countertop or backsplash, the superior qualities of European Quartz make it an incredibly versatile material.
European Quartz is ideally suited for multiple applications in the bathroom – its superior resistance to staining from common bath products like toothpaste and nail polish makes the perfect choice for a bathroom vanity. Waterproof, hygienic and easy to clean, there is no better material to surround your tub or shower.
European Quartz can easily be used in your fireplace or mantle, as it does not burn, emit smoke or toxic substances when subjected to high temperatures.
It can even be used as wall cladding for your entire interior space. With dozens of unique and captivating colors and textures, European Quartz can perfectly fit any room.
Does European Quartz come with a warranty?
European Quartz guarantees all installed residential countertop projects with a 10 Year Limited Warranty and all installed commercial countertop projects with a 10 Year Limited Warranty. You can read the terms and conditions for Residential use here and Commercial use here.
